M81, M82, and the Integrated Flux Nebula

Deep framing of Bode's Galaxy and the Cigar Galaxy set against faint integrated flux nebula in Ursa Major.

Bode’s Galaxy (M81) and the Cigar Galaxy (M82), framed by the faint galactic cirrus of our very own Milky Way: the Integrated Flux Nebula (IFN).

Captured over seven nights between April 13th-20th, 2026, from a Bortle 4 site near Grand Island, Nebraska. Spring in the plains can be hit or miss for weather, but I was lucky enough to have almost 7 clear nights to capture this region.
